Brandy's obituary

Brandy Nichole Meyer, age 35 passed away Tuesday, January 30th 2024 at Iowa City University hospital unexpectedly.

Brandy was born August 2nd, 1988 in Freeport, IL to Penny Mon (Meyer) and Gary Mon. She attended Polo schools and received her diploma and later attended Sauk Valley Community College.

Brandy met her other half, Chad Oldman in 2014. It was a match made in heaven. Brandy worked at Pinecrest in Mt. Morris until the birth of her son, Noah. She brought her new son home and began the hard work of a stay at home mom.

A caring and devoted mother, Brandy spent her time raising Noah into the kind, gentle boy he is today. She kept a home filled with love, laughter, and 90’s pop music. A favorite of hers being the Back Street Boys. Brandy kept Chad’s and Noah's hearts happy, and their bellies full. She wasn't one to be the center of attention, but she never backed down from a challenge. Especially the silly ones from her cousins.

An avid collector and lover of shoes, there wasn’t a pair she didn’t own. Brandy had a fond love and talent for crafts and home decor, creating a cozy place for her family to rest. A skilled beautician in her own right, she could craft a look for any and every occasion. When she wasn't making her home or others beautiful, you could find her in the kitchen, expressing her love through cooking and baking.

Brandy always treated everyone with kindness. She put her boys first and made sure Noah knew he was loved and had everything he could ever ask for. She truly was a family woman.

Brandy is survived by fiancé, Chad Oldham of Milledgeville, IL: son, Noah Oldham of Milledgeville, IL: five siblings, Kevin (Karyn) Mon of Mt. Carroll, IL, Steve Burke of Butte MT, Scott Mon of Perry OK., Dawn (Val) Stephenson of Perry, OK., and Melissa (Michael) Cooper of Perry, OK.: Aunt, Pam (Lance) Painter of Bricelyn MN.: Uncle, Roger (Glenda) Meyer of Mt. Morris IL. along with several cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Penny Mon and father, Gary Mon.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Polo Church of the Brethern, Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 1:00pm with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in her name.
