My condolences to the Pettito family and everyone that is affect by this sad news. As you know, Brandon was a bright and unique individual with many talents. He was smart, he was witty, he was savy and most of all he poured all his love into his closest people in his life. He was a loving dad, a loving husband, an absolute gem of a son, and the best of friend if you were lucky enough to be able to share time with him. His drumming talent was second to none. Even when he first picked up the sticks and was playing in bands in middle school, he was levels above the rest of us. He held these bands together while the rest of us played catch up to him talent wise. His ability to write songs was second to none either. In his spare time he would take out his recording device, he would hit record, he would make vocal noises, come up with a melody, pound on a counter top to get the beat, and then take it to the band to turn into a song. His lyrics were also a big part of some of those groups. He was writing deep, thoughtful lyrics at a very young age. His musical mind was so sharp. He pushed me to be a better player. He encouraged me to write more complex songs. He encouraged me to even practice, something i didnt want to really do. Im forever grateful for that encouragement. It a big reason why i still play, write and record songs. As late as mid-2023, me and him would get together and jam a few times a year. Even the last time we jammed, he wasnt physically able to use the whole kit, but he knew how much we loved being a team, so he managed the pain and was able to rock for a good 2+ hours. He was a fighter. And he did everything in life with love. i will cherish everyday i had with him.
