Brandon's obituary

Brandon Chase Moore

1989 – 2025

Brandon Chase Moore, 35, born November 14, 1989 in Amarillo, sadly passed away on April 15th 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable stories. Brandon lived life with his heart wide open and a joke always ready. He was a free spirit who found joy in making others smile—even on their worst days.

Brandon was a proud father to his 11-year-old son, Colt Wade, who was truly the center of his world. He was also a fiercely loyal brother and friend, known for his protective nature and his unmatched ability to make people laugh until they cried.

An incredibly talented artist, Brandon had a creative soul and expressed himself through his artwork with raw emotion and vivid imagination. He felt most at peace in nature, especially with a fishing pole in hand and the sun on his face—whether he caught a fish or not was usually beside the point.

Brandon endured a difficult and traumatic childhood, a burden he carried throughout his life. But despite his struggles, he gave love freely, laughed loudly, and showed up for the people he cared about—especially his siblings, nieces, and nephews.

He is survived by his son, Colt; his brothers and sisters; his many nieces and nephews; and the greatest love of his life, Leonie, who stood by him through it all.

Brandon was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Kay (2016); maternal grandfather, Joe Collins (1974); cousin, Deseree Collins (1985); stepfather, Gus Caunder (2013); maternal grandmother, Martha K. Ervin (2017); niece, Irelyn McElwee (2018); and paternal grandfather, Joe Moore (2023).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you do something Brandon would’ve loved: spend time outdoors, tell someone you love them, or simply make someone laugh.

Brandon’s sisters extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who crossed paths with him and showed him love, care, or compassion throughout his life’s journey.

Cremation services were respectfully handled by Heart of Texas Cremation in Austin, Texas.

Celebration of life scheduled for July 12, 2025 in San Antonio. Additional details will be provided via private invitations.

Brandon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those whose lives he touched.
