Having had so many childhood memories with my dad, from going roller skating, he had taught us all, and was an excellent skater himself. We went every week to the Paramus Rink. He was very athletic. Helped me practice my gymnastics in the yard. He LOVED going to the movies. As a little girl, he piled us in the big car, and went to the Drive in often, with a big bag of homemade, buttered popcorn, a bag of M&Ms, and of course, a big bottle of Coke to wash it down. Going to the beach, every year going to our Family cottage in Jamesport. He loved the beach. loved HotDog Beach in the Hamptons. He'd cook burgers and chicken on the grill, and we had a blast. Afterwards, we'd all go to Laurel Lake to wash off the sand, and swing from the rope tied to a big tree, splashing down into the lake! I still go almost every year, and remember how much he loved it there. Memories are precious. Losing those memories for my dad, who suffered from Alzheimers, was tragic to observe from the outside. I know that he was happy and smiling whenever I saw him. That's all that matters. Memories and being present. Love you Daddy. Brenda.
