Brad Boyd, 48, ended a long battle with cancer surrounded by his loved ones. Brad was well known and loved as a coach, father, husband, brother, son, and friend. Football has been his passion his entire life and he was blessed to coach hundreds of athletes throughout his career. When not on the field, Brad and his wife, Leslie, could be found cheering on their kids, Brooke and Brody, in one of the many sports they excelled in. Brad was always the life of the party, often the first on the dance floor and last to leave. He truly loved life. Brad's passing has left a tremendous void, but his light will live on in the funny stories we share and memories we keep. 

From Burkburnett ISD: It is with heavy hearts that Burkburnett ISD respectfully acknowledges the passing of our Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, Brad Boyd. Coach Boyd passed today at 12:37 PM after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. Coach Boyd was in his third year with the district and in that short time, he made a tremendously positive and lasting impact on our athletics program and our school. We ask that you please be respectful of the family and keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with the loss of a husband and father. BISD offers our love, prayers, and grace to Brad‘s wife, Leslie, and their children, Brooke and Brody.
