Born's obituary

Mr. Vol Born was born on February 10th, 1950, in Thon Hon Village, Kom Pot Province, Cambodia to Vol Sor and Neang Mon. He was diagnosed with cancer in 02/2023, and the doctor told him he could only live about 2- 6 more months, but under the good care of his family and doctors, he lived until May 2024. During the first week of May 2024, the cancer had already started to deteriorate him, and then he peacefully passed away on 05/08/2024 at 5:45 PM in his house. His wife and all of his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids gathered around him to see him off peacefully into the afterlife. 

When he was around 8-9 years old, his parents sent him to attend school at a temple near where he resided in Thon Hon Village, Kom Pot Province, Cambodia. In 1968 when he was 18 years old, he joined the Marines and was stationed at Prey Nop District, Sihanook City, Cambodia. 

Two years later in 1970, he went to do army training in South Vietnam for one year, then he moved back to his base at Prey Nop District until 1975 when the communists took over the whole country. 

He left Cambodia in 04/1975 and was settled in the United States in August after temporarily staying in the Philippines for 3 months. 

He first got married to Mrs. Joanna in 1977 and had one daughter named Lori Vol. Then divorced in 1980. Then he had a second marriage with Mrs. Kim Nhim in 1982 and had two daughters, Laura Vol, and Bopha Vol, and one son, Andy Vol. Then divorced in 1995. And then the third marriage was with Mrs. Samoun Khim on 05/25/2003 and had one son, Sombo Vol. Mr. Born Vol has a total of 5 kids, 10 grandkids, and 6 great-grandkids. 

He had worked at Tracor Aerospace Inc. in Austin, TX for almost his whole life in the USA until he retired in 2005. 

He had supported in building the temple Wat Khmer Austin temple, then his family invested in building a storage house.

 He is preceded in death by his father, Vol Sor; his mother, Neang Mon; Mr. Vol Sor and Mrs. Neang.
