Bonnie Strong, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. She was born on December 16, 1956, in Mound Bayou, Mississippi, to Sadie Mae and Wesley Davis.
Bonnie graduated from Rosedale High School in Rosedale, Mississippi, and proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. After her service, she continued her education and earned an Associate’s Degree from American River College in Sacramento, California.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Bonnie built a long and successful career with FedEx, where she worked for 37 years before retiring. She was known for her loyalty, and reliability, — qualities that extended beyond her professional life into every relationship she nurtured.
Bonnie lived her life with compassion, humor, and grace. She had a gift for making others feel deeply loved. Whether through her words of encouragement or her unforgettable laughter, she touched countless lives. She found joy in listening to Blues music, traveling the world, especially on cherished sister trips, and spending peaceful days by the beach.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Strong, her parents Sadie and Wesley Davis, and her brothers James, Wesley Jr., Louis, Gene, and Leroy Davis.
Bonnie is survived by her children: Charles (Aleah) Strong, Christen (Tiffany) Strong, and Georgia (Will) Lyles; her beloved grandkids Lily, Langston , Linaya, LaReine, Zsyian, Gabrielle, Christen Jr, Danny, Caden, and Allia, of Florida; and her siblings: Rose Davis, Hazel Washington, Jennifer (Larry) Jackiewicz, Floyd (Tameka) Powell and Bernard Davis of Decatur, IL, Audrey Rabb of Sacramento, CA, Henry (Virginia) Davis of Springfield, MO, Doll Baby Williams of Tunica, MS, Brenal Beck of Bloomington, IL, Gregory Davis and Wilma Davis of Milwaukee, WI. A huge host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her god-sister Patricia Mason of South Haven, Mississippi and longtime friends Redd, Edith and Carrie.
Bonnie’s spirit, love, and laughter will live on in all who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire us to live with grace, and to cherish each moment.
