Bonnie's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Downs, a treasured and dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Born on February 3rd, 1950, she moved on from this world on October 3rd, 2025, leaving a grand legacy of kindness behind.
Bonnie opened her heart to everyone around her and showed an endless capacity for love, care, and understanding, making her a pillar in her community. An ardent volunteer at the local 4H organization, Bonnie dedicated much of her time and strength to uplift the lives of those around her.
She had a strong will, and it was her stubborn, yet kind nature that made Bonnie the indomitable spirit she was. A lover of the great outdoors, Bonnie cherished camping and spending precious time with her beloved family. Her love for reading was well known, as was her adoration for the sun-kissed beaches of Florida, which was her favorite holiday destination. Her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother, a role she played with incredible love and dedication.
Bonnie was the beloved wife of Ralph Downs, who survives her. Her love and light continue to shine through her son Glenn Downs, and grandchildren, Kylie(Dennis) and Wyatt Downs. Bonnie is also fondly remembered by her sisters, Beverly Downs and Barb Rittenhouse, and her nephew, Chris Smith as well as many others.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Christy Downs, and her parents, George and Louise Smith, whose memory she held dear to her heart.
Bonnie Downs was more than just a name - she was an inspiration, a warm heart, a resilient spirit, and a beacon of kindness. Her legacy will be one of love and compassion, traits that she lived by and instilled in those fortunate enough to have been a part of her life. As we come to terms with her loss, we celebrate the beautiful life she led and the wonderful memories she has left behind. Bonnie, you will always be in our hearts, and your spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
