Bonnie's obituary
Ft. Worth, TX -
Bonnie C. Cain passed away at 78 years old from bladder cancer and other medical complications on May 13th, 2025. He went peacefully in his home, early in the morning, in Ft. Worth Texas.
He was born in Austin Texas, on August 1st 1946, the son of William C. and Bonnie M. (Gregorczyk) Cain.
Bonnie grew up in Austin Texas and then attended and graduated from Sinton High School. In 1966 he joined the U.S. Air Force in which he served for three years before switching careers to the U.S. Army. In 1985 he relocated with his family to Ft. Worth Texas. He served at the Naval Air Station Dallas, Cobb Park National Guard Armory, and the Randol Mill National Guard Armory. He continued his service in the National Guard until retiring. He was a dedicated service member for over 30 years and retired from service with multiple honorable discharges.
Bonnie met his wife Rolanda (Freeman) in 1970 in Austin Texas on a blind double date with his brother Bruce to the cinema to watch “ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER”. They hit it off immediately and their spark prompted Bonnie to give his Air Force ring to her. He then went home and professed to his mother the very same night that he was “going to marry that girl!”. They married October 16th, 1971.
Bonnie was a proud, hard working husband and father. He enjoyed photography, as a hobby and profession. His photographs line the walls of his home. His love of music, especially classic country and western, led him to amass an impressive vinyl record collection and dozens of reel to reel tapes. He was interested and invested in new technology. Over the years he and his family were given the opportunity to educate themselves on up to date equipment. In recent years, he enjoyed traveling with his wife. They loved driving across the US on new adventures, frequenting Canton, Tx for their legendary “Trade Days” events.
He was predeceased by his mother, Bonnie M. (Gregorczyk) and father William C. Cain.
Bonnie was survived by his wife, Rolanda L. (Freeman) Cain, son Leonard W. Cain, grandson William Cain, granddaughter Aurora Cain in Ft. Worth Texas, and his daughter Heather Cain. In addition, his younger brother Bruce Cain and nieces Jennifer May (Cain) and Stephanie Cain of Mississippi.
