Bobby's obituary

Bobby F. Yarbrough, 89, passed away at home, holding the hand of his wife on November 21, 2024.

He was born to Alton and Emma Pearl on April 11, 1935 in Noxapater, MS.

Bobby was proud to serve his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Marines. He embodied the saying, "Once a Marine, Always a Marine."

After marrying his sweetheart, Joyce on April 2, 1957 they moved to Chicago, Illinois where they worked for Sears for 38 years until retirement.

Bobby was known for his boundless heart and ability to share stories. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger and would engage in conversations with anyone crossing his path, always leaving them with a warm smile and a lightened heart.

Bobby loved playing golf, watching old reruns of JAG, and being an Elk Grove Gren Super Fan, attending any baseball or football game he could to cheer on his great grandson, Michael.

Bobby's lively personality and generous heart touched many lives, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew him. The love he had for his family was immense, and being with his great grandchildren was his favorite part of life. He spent countless hours sharing stories, teaching lessons, and creating beautiful memories with them that will now be their precious keepsakes.

Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Pamela Morrill. Surviving Bobby is Joyce, his loving wife of 67 years; his three grandchildren, Ken (Dayle) Riddle, Sandra Keane, and Rachel (Ryne) Valentin; and his six great grandchildren; Michelle, Julia, Michael, Harper, Ava, and Mae, all who were very dear to his heart.

As we mourn the loss of Bobby, we celebrate his wonderful journey of life that was embellished with love, kindness and countless memorable moments. His welcoming character and big heart will be greatly missed, but these qualities will continue to live in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.

Bobby's life serves as a reminder of the difference one can make with a kind word, a generous hand, and an open heart. His memory will be carried forward by all those whose lives he touched with his caring spirit and overwhelming kindness. His was a life well lived, and he will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all.

Services will be held at the Crystal Lake Church of Christ.  Date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shults-Lewis Child & Family, 150 E 325 S, Valparaiso, IN 46383, an organization close to Bobby's heart.
