I'll always remember and love you, Bob. You were like a second dad to me, and I will always think of Addie as my sister. I have countless happy memories with you, Addie, and my dad.
Even when you were getting salty or (understandably) a little annoyed with the two little girls giggling and shrieking in the house, van, sailboat, or at the Pagosa folk festival, you were so quick to crack a huge smile. I'll always remember the way you would put on a sourpuss face (which no one believed for a second), but you couldn't hold it for long. You were laughing again before you knew it. I can hear your laugh as I write this.
I loved playing music with you at Pagosa; you gave me my first introduction to stand-up and acoustic bass years before I started playing electric. I'm happy we got to share our love for music.
Words can't really express how my heart feels right now, but I take comfort in the happy memories we all shared. Thank you for teaching me that life is meant to be lived, and that we work to live, not the other way around. You knew that the biggest blessing we can give our loved ones is to live life to the fullest and be happy. You were a great role model in that, and you brought joy and laughter to so many people.
Sending you so much love, Pa Bass. I already miss you.
Here's a song that's reminding me of you today: "Cry to Me" by John Hiatt. https://www.youtube.com/watch…
