I worked with Bob selling cars from 2009-2011. This was a particularly difficult time in my life and for many others. Bob was always quick with a joke and great to talk with. His laugh put a smile one my face more times than I can count. He was a good man, and I offer my condolences to the family.

Bobby and i drove up to who knows where ( all I recall is was 3.5 hours North on 15. We'd gone to visit Chris McDevitt, hed taken a new Position as General Manager of a brand new Dave and Busters( this was over 25 years ago and Dave & Busters had just opened its 3rd Place andvour very own own Chris McDevitt was the new GM. Like to 2 teenagers we went in ready to play some games and eat very bad food. Chris basically gave us Carte Blanch telling us our money was no go good at his Store( which anybody who knew Bobby that was Music to his ears Bobby's Motto- If its Free ,its for Me) We played every single game in what was probably a 5000 square foot place,if we found a favorite we played it for a few hours After about 12 hours there Bobby taked me into playing in this High Stakes Poker Game Now there were serious poker players at that table, you'd have thought we were in Las Vegas playing for real money $$$( in Dave and Buster world all winnings came in form of tickets you could cash in for some pretty cool prizes. So there I sat with 6 rangy men who had played poker their entire lives, I knew conceptually how to play poker but had never actually played a game in my life. Surrounded by Bobby ,Chris McDevitt and a few assorted Scamps who I dont remember i proceded to win everyones chips to a total of like a Million .5 dollars. Bobby and Chris acted as if they were the Proudest Uncles in the world,we were laughing so hard tears from our eyes snot running our noses. Now the other players were truly pissed off, they challenged me to a one tome take all last hand adding another $200,000 in Dave and Busters $$$ to the pot. Now me i had so many tickets id already won twice the highest prize you could get had been eyeing thevprizes ready to walk away and get some STUFF. Bobby and Chris egged me on, come on Michele you can take these guys. Pride and Ego were on the Table plus after playing pokers with this crew of serious players they wanted to prove it all had been First Timers Luck, especially losing to a woman had all their panties in a knot. I figured I owed " My Boys" one more hand. Finally down to me and a real As----e ,he was so sure he was gonna teach the lady how real poker players played( geez we were at Dave and Bustersfor F--k sake playing with fake chips to win fake $$$ fir realky cheesy prizes) Never been one to turn down a challenge i calked ,he layed down a Full House sure he'd won about $ 2million in D&B $$$.By this point we'd been there for about 15 hours, Sober mind you( D & B served alcohol) the entire place went silent ,everyone bussboys included had stopped to see what the Redheaded girl was holding in her hand Bobby and Chris standing directly behind me making sure no one was eyeing my cards, by this time i had my cards fanned down flat against the table. Yup I'd pulled it off ,turned over a Royal Flush. The entire place erupted just went plain nuts, i was keeping my eye on whose hand I'd just beat. To this day I know if Bobby and Chris had not been there he would have reached across that poker table and smacked me down. To this day it was the most fun day I've ever spent in Sobriety, we'd been there 18 hours ,had opened and closed the place down. Small group of Alcoholic friends just reverting back to kids for one day where we played all day long laughed so hard my stomach was hurting me for days after. Is was the very first and last time I ever played poker. How could I ever surpass a day at the Tables like that, real or imagined. Every few years 25 years later Bobby and I could still crack each other up just remembering that day that had stared out with a simple, Hey lets take a ride and go see Chris McDevitt at his new job somewhere up North. I will forever cherish that memory. And oh yeah ,for years after my name remained at the Top of the winningest Poker Player of any Dave & Busters. Some where along the line I was de- crowned but no 3 friends ever had a better day. I will miss Bobby every day for the rest of my life. Ive lost too many of my favorite "Scamps" ( said wirh true love) this last year. Keep them laughing Bobby and yourself too. ❤ M
