Bob's obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Donlon, a remarkable man, father, brother, grandpa, attorney and music enthusiast. Born on September 19, 1957, Bob left us on November 24, 2024, in Charlotte, NC.
Bob was a proud graduate of Boston College and Albany Law School. After passing the bar, his brilliant legal mind led him to a successful career as an attorney, where he mentored many young minds, and proudly became a pillar of the corporate law community of both Syracuse, NY and Charlotte, NC.
Bob's love for music was evident. To him, music was a universal language that brought people together. His favorite musicians spanned many genres and decades, from Alice Cooper and Pink Floyd, to Green Day and John Mayer. Bob would sit for hours listening to his favorite artists, and believed that music was best heard with "the sound all the way up."
Among the lessons he imparted on those around him, one stands out above all: always remember the big picture. He encouraged others to keep their eyes on the ultimate goal, the wider perspective, and always gave the best advice.
Bob leaves behind his three children, Kyle, Kelly and Casey, and granddaughter, Ellis, as well as his siblings, Debbie, Bill, Sue, Jimmy and Brian. His memory will continue to inspire those he shared his life with. As we remember Bob, we carry forward his lesson of looking at the big picture, his love for music, and his uncanny ability to make those around him laugh and smile.
A gathering of family, friends, colleagues and loved ones will be held Saturday, 12/14/24 @ 10am, at the Marriott of SouthPark, 2200 Rexford Road, Charlotte, NC 28211.
In lieu of flowers, we are kindly requesting donations to "Shatterproof", "Recovery Communities in North Carolina" (RCNC), or any other substance abuse charity of your choosing, to help end the stigma associated with substance abuse, and aid those struggling with addiction today.
