Where it all began. The Independent Florida Alligator photo department, probably 1993 or so.

Oh Leslie and Emily, I am so sad to hear about Bob passing!  What a Legacy he left— those wonderful memories of the time you had with him. I was so glad he seemed so happy at your wedding, dear Emily.  I pray that God will comfort your hearts and fill you with His presence, in Jesus name I pray.

Bob and I became friends at Largo high School. We both loved skateboarding. We often debated over tech vs flow style of skating.. of course in reality they both won. I left Florida for College and we lost touch for about 7 years… we reconnected a bit after I moved to the PNW and he was trying to figure out his photojournalism internship/career. Once again we lost touch for another 10 years and then re connected. My wife and I relocated back to Pinellas County for a few years and got to spend time with Bob and Leslie . Turns out we had both fallen in love with mountain biking, some snowboarding and were both in amazing marriages. We got to go paddle boarding with Manatees in Redington beach, mountain biking in Alafia and Balm Boyette and reminiscing about Largo High School and our skateboarding based youth. My wife and I returned to the PNW and we stayed in regular contact with Bob. We met up in Bend, Oregon for mountain biking and some snowboarding which was fantastic. We knew Bob had been battling Cancer and of course we had hoped he had won this brutal battle. We invited Bob to our house in White Salmon, WA. In September 2025. We set him up with a mountain ebike and proceeded to have numerous mountain adventures, some trail building, fantastic dinners and evenings and a fantastic time that neither my partner Barbara or I will ever forget. I will always remember Bob as a fantastic friend, father and husband 

Ran into Bob while he was on site for the taping of a new season of Ty Pennington’s show Rock the Block! Loved to get to see him in action and a little chat after about life and a new chapter I was about to embark on. He was so excited for me to take a new path and I’ll never forget that moment we got to share. ❤️
