Bob's obituary

Robert Courtney sadly died on January 24, 2015 at the age of 88. He was born on August 1, 1926 in Oklahoma. He was a dust bowl refugee and met Bette Courtney and became engaged. On February 7, 1946, Bob and Bette married. They had three daughters, Janice, Kathy and Debby. Bob was an impressive builder, and moved to California to build his own home. He had a magic book, and he would do magic constantly and was perfect at it. He built decorations for his own church. Bob could basically do anything! Bob was an outstanding grandfather, I would have sleepovers with Bob and Bette, and he would teach me several magic tricks. You can learn more about Bob on the Bette Courtney Obituary. He witnessed the death of his outstanding wife, Bette, at the end of 2009, and spoke at the memorial. He was up and active his whole entire life and was never in bed during the day, until Christmas 2014. On December 25, 2014, he collapsed while working on a church project and was immediately taken to his home. His daughter, Debby, would live with him and nurse him. Bob was alive and not at all hurt or severely sick until the early morning of January 24, 2015. He was always smart and never had a brain disease. That day, he was getting tired and his soul was trying to break free. He was dying. Debby called for Janice and Kathy to come over and be by his bedside. She also told Bob to hang on. Janice and Kathy came to his bedside and Bob was still alive and conscious! He held up three fingers, meaning the three people he loved most, his daughters. He passed away peacefully with his daughters by his bedside the same day. Janis, Kathy and Debby all attended. He finally has met Bette again in heaven.
