Blazenka's obituary
Blazenka Bogunovic
October 28th 1950- April 15th 2024
Blazenka was the kind of beautiful person you never forget, even if you only met her once. She was an avid believer in hard work, dedication, and creativity. She was incredibly smart, strong, independent, resilient, and never gave up on anything. Her ability to adapt to the ever changing circumstances in her life was incredible. She boldly faced adversity with a fierce and fiery attitude, which reflected in every aspect of her life. She fought bravely through years of treatments, and in her stubborn nature, never stopped being strong through it all. Blazenka truly was a one-of-a-kind, no-nonsense woman.
Throughout her very successful career as a Graphic Designer, Blazenka traveled the world and enjoyed good food, dancing until dawn, and made life-long friends. She was funny and personable and very easy to talk to. Her favorite thing to do when she met someone new was to guess where they were from based on their last name or their accent. She spoke several languages and revelled in the opportunity to converse with someone new. Blazenka’s elite fashion sense, confidence, and beaming personality lit up every room she entered.
In later years, she worked with her husband Milan at his company Ferrum Engineering. Blazenka eagerly and tirelessly educated herself in all the aspects of manufacturing. Her favorite saying was "If I don't know how to do it, I'll just have to learn how!". Together, Milan and Blazenka built a legacy of precision, quality, and integrity in the machining industry.
I had the unique opportunity to know her professionally and personally in ways that transcended our generational and cultural differences. I will never forget the things she taught me about business, life, and relationships, nor could I ever repay all the kindness she showed me. When I was first hired at Ferrum, Milan and Blazenka met my desire for growth and knowledge with open arms. There quickly became a point in our relationship where everyone believed me to be their daughter. They embraced this, and told many people that I really was, which I will always regard with the highest honor. She will be dearly missed by so many, and to my children she will always be Grandma BB.
