Blanche's obituary

October 30, 1948 – July 22, 2021 

Blanche Templar, 72, a resident of Florence, Oregon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 22, 2021. Blanche was born on October 30, 1948, in Watertown, New York, to Robert Charles and Lois (Wood) Templar. She spent her youth in Rochester, New York and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1966. Blanche began her lifelong career in the medical field at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. 

Blanche lived in several states, working and raising her children, until she discovered a cherished home in Florence. She continued to work and excel in her career. Florence is where she met the love of her life, Jeffrey Templar. Blanche and Jeffrey were married on September 13, 2008. Her eyes and smile brightened when she spoke of her beloved husband. 

Blanche was talented and creative in so many ways. She enjoyed dancing and singing and loved engaging in these passions with Jeffrey. She was a creative writer, mostly writing for her own pleasure. She was an incredible seamstress who was imaginative with costuming. She was also a lifelong student, engaging in a variety of subjects outside her medical pursuits. She was a generous woman who would lend a helping hand in any way she could. Blanche will always be remembered as a selfless, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. 

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charlie Templar. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Jeffrey Templar; her son Everett “Jay” Jenkins; her daughter, Laura Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Sky Jenkins; Grandsons, Everett Jenkins and Dylan Jenkins. Blanche’s life was additionally blessed with Jeffrey’s sons, Eric Furstenberg (Megan) and Alex Wantanabe (Sarah); and a grandson, Theo Wantanabe. Blanche is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many treasured friends. 

On September 5, 2021, at 2:00pm, there will be a Celebration of Life honoring Blanche Templar at Florence Elks Lodge 1858 (1686 12th Street) in Florence, Oregon. The family of Blanche has entrusted the care of their loved on to Burns’ Riverside Chapel Florence Funeral Home www.burnsriversidechapel.com
