Billy Morrell Mixon, Jr., age 72, of Helen, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

Mr. Mixon was born on September 4, 1952, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Billy Mixon, Sr. and Syble Moody Mixon. Billy’s passion in life was coaching youth sports. He was known to so many young athletes as “Coach” and later in life this love transitioned to cheering on his grandsons play ball. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a huge UGA fan. Billy will be remembered as a man who never met a stranger and who loved his family more than anything. He was a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church and was a Past Master of a masonic lodge in Savannah, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Pamela Mixon; children, William and Rosa Mixon, Jessica “Willie” and West Malenke, Cody and Taylor Mixon, Danielle and Benn Irwin; grandchildren, J.P. Malenke, Waylon Mixon, and Tucker Mixon.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 12, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, prior to the memorial service.
