Billy's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Billy G "Bill" Ward on the 30th of June, 2024, at the age of 92 at his home in Helotes, Texas. He was born in Stafford, Kansas, on June 23, 1932, to Virgil and Gladys Ward. Bill grew up in Hutchinson, Ks a man of great gentleness and wisdom, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and lives of those fortunate to have known him.

As a young man, he served his country with dignity in the Army, a period that shaped his character and prepared him for the many challenges and triumphs that were yet to come. After his honorable service, he continued his career at Robert's Printing and Stationary in Hutchinson, Ks. His commitment to his work was unwavering, as he dedicated 30 years to the company before retiring.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, his daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

He is survived and will be forever cherished in the memories of his beloved wife of 74 years, Margaret E Ward (Watkins). Their enduring love and companionship were the bedrock on which they built a thriving family, including their five children: Mike (Barbara) Ward, Scott (Andrea) Ward of Hutchinson, Ks, Bret (Rhonda) Ward of Buhler, Ks, Tambra (Mike) Valencia of Valley Center, Ks, and Debora (Jon) Jaggers of Helotes Tx. Bill's legacy continues through a lineage that includes 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Bill was not one for grandiose display but instead found richness in the modesty of being. That is how he lived, and that is how he is remembered—a gentle soul with the wisdom of the ages, a touchstone for all who knew him.

As Bill's chapter on Earth concludes, his story is far from over. It will be recounted in the fish tales of his children and grandchildren, and the hum of country tunes that will forever stir the memories of those he loved. His story is one of love and the quiet strength that binds a family through the generations.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Hutchinson, Ks.
