Well Sandy. Today you would be celebrating your earthly birthday, if you were still here, on Earth. I know I'm not the only one who tho't about you today. I just wanted to stop by and say that.

He and brother Frosty played in my band for a short while in early 70s. Both were great musicians and we had some really fun times. Red Freeman

A little more on Sandy. When I was a kid, I got to meet Dottie West, Shelly West and David Frizzel through knowing Sandy, his brothers and father. They would stop over at Marion's house (Sandy's father) to hang out, drink wine, pick guitars and sing their latest songs. I would sit on the living room floor in awe and take it all in. The Clark brothers would let me tune their guitars on their fancy electric guitar/bass tuner that was a the size of a small TV and made of steel.
Their running joke with all the rabbit furs strewn about the living room floor was that they were covering up spilled Spanada Red Wine stains. Every once in a while, when a glass of wine was tipped over, they put a rabbit fur pelt over it to cover the stain!

Marion lived next door and my dad hung out with him and Frosty.
Sandy would swing by from coming off the road and I was in awe when him and the band walked in Marion’s house with leather jackets, guitars and girls on their arms.
Later on in Albuquerque I played on stage with Sandy and Frosty in buffet bar bands… I had become a musician too….
I have many Clark stories to share

Mya, one early memory that I will never forget that has to do with your dad when we were bandmates in our first garage band. We were playing for the Heizer Jr. High 9th grade graduation party (National Guard Armory in Hobbs) and scheduled a set to do in which we implemented a psychedelic and strobe light show. During this set we played songs by the Yardbirds which included: "Heart Full of Soul", "Shape of Things", "Over, Under, Sideways, Down" and "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago". Your Dad was amazing, he played the lead guitar exactly note for note just like Eric Clapton did on those songs. We received so many compliments for sounding just like the Yardbirds, and your dad put on a performance with the light show. We wore black light makeup which made a great visual effect with the black lights and strobe lights going at the same time. Never will forget that night, best I ever heard your dad play. Sadly, it was also our last gig together as "The Young Ones", but just one of so many memories and stories I could share.

Sandy's Mom and me, were 1st cousins. I remember Sandy from the Fennell Family reunions, when he was young, on up until he was a teenager. Him and his father and brothers would 'make music' at the family reunions. Life happened, with little contact, then a few years ago, he appeared on facebook and became friends with the family. I enjoyed his comments. You never knew how he would respond. :) It wouldn't be a typical response and he liked to insert a little humor, in his witty comments. I miss his comments , as I know his other cousins do. God rest his gentle soul.
