Bill's obituary

We regret to announce the passing of Bill (William)  Scott, a man known for his wit, wisdom, and humor. Bill was born on May 11, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Roy and Catherine Scott.    He passed away suddenly on April 9, 2026. He leaves behind his spouse, Kandi, alongside his children, Alicia, Justin (Tammera), Susan and grandchildren Jordan, Connor, Morgan and Dalton.

Bill is known for his quick wit, funny charm, and an unmatched bank of knowledge. Bill had a knack for lighting up a gathering with his many stories and his ability to tell a few naughty jokes, making friends wherever he landed.  His upfront honesty and directness were lessons he imparted to his family and every person he interacted with.

Bill was a man of many achievements. He was a proud Local 135 Teamster for 35 years, but took greater pride in his family--with whom he loved to travel with in his greatest achievement: his motorhome. He loved finding a new place to enjoy the nature around him and gladly invited anyone to enjoy a sunset or a night outside under the stars. If you were lucky enough to have shared an adventure with him, you not only left with memories of beautiful scenery and plenty of laughs, but also with at least one strong opinion and a lesson you didn't ask for.

Bill was also an expert at DIY projects,  demonstrating his knowledge of everything from auto repair to electrical wiring of a house.  His hands were skilled at building, creating and repairing; his mind always brimming with useful tips and ideas for any job to be done around the house.  He would happily tell you exactly what was wrong, where you went wrong trying to fix it, and the right way to get it done.  His legacy will be of a man who showed his love for everyone by sharing everything he knew - which was how to fix just about anything.

Bill’s passing leaves a void and he will be missed dearly by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings and longtime friends. All who knew Bill will carry fond memories of his wisdom, strong opinions, things he helped fix, and his humor.  It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to him, but his spirit will continue to live on in those that he left behind.
