Beverly's obituary

Bev was taken to the ER at Banner Boswell on May 6th after she fell and was showing signs of a stroke. She was transferred that night to Banner University Medical Center and was in the ICU where it was confirmed she had a stroke that started 3-5 days prior. The stroke caused her to be paralyzed on the left side of her face and body. Her family was able to ask her wishes and Bev chose to go on comfort care the evening of May 7th and transition to hospice. Her family partnered with Hospice of the Valley (HOV) based on their caring experience during the passing of Bev’s beloved husband, Jerry, in 2021. She was transferred to HOV’s Thunderbird Inpatient Unit on May 8th and remained there until May 22nd when HOV advised her condition was stable with the help of the medications keeping her comfortable. She was then transferred to Circle of Life in Queen Creek, AZ to continue to be under 24-hour care with continued support and frequent visits from HOV, while being only 10 minutes away from her oldest daughter. She remained stable until July 5th when she developed a stomach bug and began to decline quickly. She passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 10th.

Born in Antioch, California, she moved to Arizona in 1971 with her late husband, Jerry, whom she was married to for 52 years. They shared a passion for travel, spending many years as full-time RVers, exploring the country and making memories along the way. Her family often joked that she was “part gypsy” due to her love of the open road. Even after Jerry’s passing, she remained drawn to travel, embarking on long road trips because of how much she enjoyed driving.

Bev had a deep love for animals, especially toy poodles, who were always by her side. She also enjoyed the quieter pleasures of life, playing the piano, reading, and creating beautiful cross-stitch pieces.

As a devout Christian, she held strong to her faith, which influenced many of her decisions throughout life. She and Jerry instilled that faith into their children as well, who trust that she has been reunited with him in heaven. She is survived by her daughters Pam (Tom), Karen (Steve), Penny, and Trish (Pete).
