Beverly's obituary
Beverly Jean Keator, born August 20, 1948, in Downey, California, passed away peacefully at home in Reno, Nevada, on December 7, 2025, at the age of 77.
Raised in Norwalk, California, Beverly grew up with a vibrant spirit, a warm heart, and a gift for bringing joy to those around her. On September 7, 1968, she married the love of her life, Lyle Raymond Keator, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond until his passing in 3/3/03. Together, they built a beautiful family grounded in love, laughter, and faith.
Beverly was the devoted mother of Donna Jean Keator, David Lyle Keator, and Kevin Lyle Keator, whom she cherished endlessly. She spent her later years living with her perfect son David, daughter-in-law Jessica Keator, and her beloved granddaughters, Shaylee and Ava, who filled her days with joy and companionship.
A woman of many passions, Beverly loved to travel and often visited her sister, Donna Adams, in Washington state, as well as many beloved friends and family. One of her most valued passions was the nurturing care of any injured or ill family and friends in need. She found beauty in nature—flowers, butterflies, and every beloved animal she encountered. In her youth, she was athletic and energetic, enjoying tennis, softball, and staying active. She loved outdoor adventures and camping. Above all, she treasured time with family, friends, and her “grand-pets,” offering kindness, companionship, and unconditional love to those fortunate enough to know her.
Beverly will be remembered for her hilarious sense of humor, her bubbly and joyful personality, and the way she lit up any room she entered. She loved to tease, laugh, and make others smile. Strong, nurturing, and a little bit feisty, she cared deeply for people, always ready to comfort someone in need or brighten a difficult day. Her Christian faith guided her life, and her compassion and warmth touched countless hearts.
Beverly is survived by her children Donna Thacker, David Keator, and Kevin Keator; her daughter-in-law Jessica Keator; her granddaughters Shaylee Scalise and Ava Scalise; her son-in-law Chris Thacker; her daughter-in-law Ahn Thu Nguyen; her sister Donna Adams; and her grand-puppy Coco Chanel. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Lyle Raymond Keator, her brother Wayne Hayes, and her parents Mildred and Leslie Hayes.
Beverly’s legacy is one of laughter, faith, and love; a legacy that will live on in her family and all who were blessed to know her.
