Beverly's obituary

Beverly Jean Harvey, 81, passed away Thursday, April 10, at home, after a battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Beverly was born March 18, 1944, in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Immaculate Conception. She worked 20 years as a dental assistant and 10 years as a caretaker, before beginning to enjoy the retired life. She loved to crochet, play games, and enjoy her animals. Her favorite color was purple and her favorite dessert, which she requested a lot when she was sick, was pineapple-upside down cake.

She will best be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a great caregiver. She will also be known for being the neighborhood’s “mom”, because all the kids loved her with her bold nature, heart of gold, and kind and generous spirit.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Thomas, her three daughters Katherine Gunter (Marty Manly )of Raleigh, Kristine (Mark Stebbins )of Wake Forest, and Karen Harvey of the home. She is also survived by grandchildren: Tiffany (Ronald Bauer), Amanda Gunter, Mitchell (Emily D. Huegel), Dylan (Emily N. Huegel) and Shawn Stebbins; and four great-grand kids: Logan Bauer, Gavin Bauer, Jaxon Bauer, and Alaina Huegel.

Visitation with the family will be at 11 a.m., at Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest. The funeral service will start at 1 p.m. at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Dr.

A reception immediately follows the funeral at The Forks, 339 S. Brooks St.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
