Beulah was born to Lloyd and Zettie Carpenter on January 17th 1930 in Cloutierville, Louisiana in Natchitoches Parish. She was the second child of twelve born to that union. She had 7 brothers, and 4 sisters. Her siblings Eulah, Alma, Lang-G, Lonnie, Grant , Joseph, Lincoln, and Lloyd preceded her in death, as did her parents and a son, Donald ray king.
