Betty "Grandma Betty" Sanford
April 23, 1939 – February 4, 2026
Betty Jane (Pope) Sanford, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. With a generous heart, Betty lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication.
Betty was a cherished school bus driver in Pasco County, where she served faithfully for 25 years before retiring in 2002. Known for her warm spirit, she touched the lives of countless children and families, always making everyone feel welcome and important.
She is survived by her two loving and devoted children, Rusty and Robin Brown; seven beloved grandchildren, Jennifer (Brown) Boyette, Shannon (Brown) Miltner, Kristi Brown, Amanda David, Travis Brown, Angela David, and Avery Brown; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Betty’s family misses her deeply but takes comfort in knowing she is free from pain and has been joyfully reunited with her mother, Eunice Colleen Pope, father, Curtis William Pope, her youngest son, Jeff Brown, her siblings and the rest of her family who preceded her.
Betty’s legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at her son, Rusty's house in Dover, FL on Saturday, February 28th, 2026. More details will be shared once plans have been finalized.
