Betty Ruth Rice passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2020. Betty was born on April 21, 1937 in Crane, Missouri.

Betty raised her kids in Bakersfield, California and later in life moved to Crosby, Texas which became her all-time favorite place to call home. She had a deep love for her family and dogs. She spent her days playing crossword puzzles, word searches, watching crime shows, finding new recipes, and caring for her beautiful plants.

Betty is preceded in death by her mother Hazel Cox; her father James Cox; her brother Johnny Cox; brother Dickie Cox; her brother James Cox Jr.; her brother Sammy Cox; her son Michael Rice; and her grandson Anthony Bennett.

She is survived by her daughter Launah Phillips; her daughter Kathy Miguez; and her daughter Teresa Martin. She also leaves behind granddaughter Audra Lund and husband Keith; grandson Jordan Bennett and wife Liah; granddaughter Starla Martinez and husband Alfred; grandson Joshua Gemmell; grandson Justin Henson; and grandson Jonathan Hunt. She also leaves behind her most cherished great-grandchildren Parker, Mason, Ivy, and Ireland.

There will not be a formal memorial for her but we encourage everyone to share stories at home or with the family.
