Betty's obituary

Betty K Parker age 80, of Dayton, was born on May 1, 1942, in Baker, LA. She unexpectedly departed to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2023

Betty moved to Dayton, Ohio, in the early 1970s. After arriving, she enrolled in nursing school and worked several jobs to support her family. She worked for Inland Manufacturing for over two decades before deciding to semi-retire. Midway through the 1980s, she decided to open her own local retail carpet store in the city. Determined to stay busy and support her family, Betty became a School Bus Driver and sold cars for the Zapia family at Salem Chrysler Plymouth in Dayton.

Betty dedicated her life to raising and ensuring her children and grandchildren were educated in school and in the word of God. She loved lending a hand at local nursing homes and reaching out to help the less fortunate. Her family was not expecting to lose her and will be forever devastated by her absence.

Betty leaves to forever cherish her memory two daughters, Sandra Parker and Dr. Tammy Parker M.D., son David Parker Sr. (Robin H.), and son in law Richard Morrison Sr., one sister; Barbara Dalcourt (Elvin); 6 grandchildren, Richard Morrison Jr. (Ebony), Daniel Parker (Walker Koppleman-Brown), Rydale Morrison, Ghiman McKinney, Davashawn Parker, Dalisha Parker, Kidada Parker, and David Parker Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Parker, parents John David Johnson and Catherine Smith Johnson, son Clifton Parker (Miyon), two daughters Marie Morrison (Richard) and Valerie Parker, grandson Ryan Morrison; 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
