Thanksgiving TimeAnother year of Thanksgiving week is here. Being Betty’s youngest daughter, in case you didn’t know. Smiling.. I have many, many fond memories of my mother. Planning, shopping then cooking for this holiday. Working together in the kitchen. Doing the shopping. Making the best cups of coffee in the world!
May I say.. The “pink stuff” is still my favorite. I remember one year, standing in my kitchen. I think it was 2003 or 4. I made a double batch. From my grandma’s recipe. Mom laughed at my attempt.. Grandma thought it was good. Everyone went home with huge bowls.
I miss my mother every day. So many people loved her in Northern Colorado. She lived in Longmont for 34 year’s. I have had several conversations. With many of my friends, of how her love and advice helped them through a difficult time in their lives.
So, while I am working on my own thanksgiving dinner. I will remember her. All of the hilarious memories I have of Thanksgiving. Hoping this year will be less sadness than last.. I Love You Mom

I was so sorry to hear about Betty's passing. She was such a wonderful friend. I was introduced to Betty while visiting my aunt in Longmont and almost immediately we found common grounds in quilting. Betty took me to Quilt Guild meetings with her while I was in Longmont. Betty leaves a legacy in her quilts....and will be fondly remembered.
