Betty's obituary

Betty Jean Kelley, 66, of Pasadena, MD died peacefully in her sleep, at home, on March 26, 2018. She was surrounded by loved ones and had celebrated a long weekend of fun, sharing memories, good food and a lot of laughter. The weekend was lovingly dubbed “Beejefest 2018.”

Born on 8/10/51, Betty grew up in Severna Park, attended Severna Park High School and later moved to Pasadena where she lived for over four decades. Betty was an employee for the State of Maryland for over 25 years.

In her spare time Betty enjoyed gardening, shopping for antiques and spending time with her loved ones. She had a bird named Skittles that meant the world to her! She was mom to her daughter, her son-in-law and all of her daughter’s friends as well. Everyone who met her commented how sweet she was. What many may not know is that she was a card shark. She enjoyed playing cards and would win almost every hand! She appeared to be a sweet little lady who could barely see her cards but she would clean house every time. Entering her in underground competitions was highly but jokingly considered.

Betty was a Christian. She taught her daughter to pray and to always thank God for everything. She was also very patriotic. Her favorite charities to support were The Purple Heart and The Disabled American Veterans.

Betty is survived by her daughter Gina, her son-in-law David, and many loved ones whom she considered family.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday April 26, 2018, 4:00pm in the Chapel of The Lighthouse Church GB, located at 6691 Baymeadow Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Casual attire, children and all are welcome!
