Betty's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Betty Carley on June 25, 2024. Born on August 4, 1950, Betty had a life filled with love, joy, and service to others. She was a bubbly, warm, caring woman who taught us the value of treating others the way we want to be treated.
Betty is survived by her son Michael Carley, her daughter Jessie Carley, and her cherished granddaughters Ja'Kayla Carley and Crystal Carley. She was predeceased by her parents, Barbara Carley-Hall and Kenny Hall, and her loving daughter, Britney Carley.
Education was an important part of Betty's life. In 1968, she graduated from high school, an achievement she was proud of. Later, she found her calling as a social worker, retiring in 2018 after a career dedicated to serving others. This crowning achievement is amongst her greatest accomplishments.
Betty had a soft spot for life's simple pleasures. She loved sitting on her porch, drinking coffee, or going window shopping. Her favorite vacation spots were Oklahoma and Mississippi, and she enjoyed spending time at the Art Museum in her local community. A fan of Luther Vandross's music, she also loved TV shows like In the Heat of the Night and Walker Texas Ranger. The Lion King was her favorite movie, and she was an enthusiastic Dolphins fan.
Betty was a food lover, with potato chips, ice-cream, P&J sandwiches, greens, and chicken being her favorites. She enjoyed a refreshing Coke and had a knack for playing Spades. Her favorite colors green and yellow were a reflection of her lively personality.
Through her kindness and generosity, Betty created a legacy that would continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. As we mourn the loss of this beautiful soul, we also celebrate the life she lived and the love she shared. Rest in peace, dear Betty.
