2025, Beth’s Home
We’re nearly complete. The house is almost empty of mom’s treasures, but I can still find her scents, the orange and lavender, the incense and spices. Thank you to each and every one of you for being mom’s friend. She was surrounded by so many wonderful people, many of whom Brian and I met for the first time. You know, I look around and see the empty house she lived in for 30+ years, one that mom filled with beautiful things now gone, but it’s walls hold the memories of parties and holiday gatherings, and so much laughter. It’s good juju. Beth is still here, then. The new owners will no doubt live in a place full with happiness and abundance.

Dear Ones Brian and Matt,

You and others arranged a delightful, thoughtful and tender memorial for your adorable Mother. Words can not express how much she will me missed.

I had intended to come to the open house last week end just to feel the divine energy in her home. I was wanting another of her art pieces. When she first started doing her collages I purchased  3 of them. They were quite simple but they were of Buddhas, which my home already displays many Buddha paintings. I gifted one each to my Soul Sisters Frances Rice and Konnie Nelson. I wanted them to have something of Beth's. Meanwhile I understand both Konnie and Frances came to the sale and each made purchases.

Unfortunately I came down with a dreadful cold and felt it would have been thoughtless of me to come around other people. I was so disappointed that I couldn't mingle with all the wonderful people that would be there. I hope there will be a way for some of us to make  a connection since we are all spiritually evolved and could create a circle of new friends.

Hopefully some of Beth's friends have some additional contacts and referrals for other energy workers who do massage, facials,  and energy work. Beth's healing gifts were priceless. I understand  The foot Detox machine was loaned out and if that person is offering that service we would like to set up an appointment.

I am saddened to know of your Father's failing heath. I admire your ability to rise to the occasion for both your parents in such a short space of time. You both are truly good sons to your beloved parents.

I am enclosing my email and cell phone . I anyone knows of any health providers that do energy work I would be grateful for the contacts.

As always, I wish everyone Peace, joy, light and happiness, love and blessings.

Last night I dreamed of you, Beth. Plain as day, sitting in your chair, facing me. Your hair touseled. Silver. Like the halo of an angel. Your eyes bright, startlingly blue. Attentive, assessing my needs for massage. I first met you as your client. Soon we met for healing work on your table as friends. You gifted me with your healing touch. You gifted me with sanctuary when I needed it, renting me your little house. It was a safe place to retreat to. You gifted me with books to encourage me. And I knew you that you always had my back.

I am grateful. I am grateful. I am grateful. I love that the night before you crossed the rainbow bridge, you were dancing to your own heartbeat. You are Joy! The Universe benefits.

Much love, dear one.

My acquaintance with Beth was through our mutual friend, Merideth Tall. I didn't know her well, but always knew over the years how important she was to Merideth and her family.  She was a source of great wisdom,  inspiration and love to those dear to me and for that I say thank you.

Matt and Brian,

Beth was so proud of who you are as human beings. She would talk about you with love and joy in her eyes.  Her descriptions of you two men as having “Buddha energy” was often said in a discussion we were having about my sons when she would assure me their “Buddha energy” would serve them well just as yours had served the two of you. I found it comforting to hear that as my sons were going through the inevitable ups and downs of growing up.

Beth was my friend for 20 years.  We were in different stages of life so our time together was often dinner after an appointment or the occasional lunch on her day off. Her spunk, intelligence, creativity, compassion, light and love were a beacon to me, particularly as I navigated critically ill sons and the trauma that came along with that both for the boys and for me. Beth and the boys developed their own relationships along the way.  I loved watching them interact with big smiles and dancing eyes.

Beth’s radiant light, sense of joy and ability to connect on a deep level lives on in all of us that she touched with her love.  I feel blessed to have called her my dear friend.

With love,

Holly Gray

Beth and I first met over 40 years ago when we worked together at the Seattle Nordstrom in the jewelry department.  I have such fond memories of getting to know Beth who was such a fun, inspiring, and creative team mate and someone who was always in my corner. I feel so lucky to have called her a dear friend from that point on.

We lived only blocks away from each other but I never got to see her enough and our plans for a lunch date was to come soon.

I am so saddened by her loss but she will always be close to my heart and I will miss her very much.

Beth, I love you and miss you always and one day I hope we are connected again.

Where do I even start with the wonder that is Beth Baker Burke? She is truly a magical soul that has blessed all our lives in so many ways. Her heart is bigger than her physical body and she used both well, to be there for, and heal, so many people by touching not only our bodies but our souls. Her skill with bodywork was beyond compare. As a healer and friend, she saw us. And loved us for ourselves, and delighted in how the Great Spirit was expressed in all our beings.

I’ve been blessed to know Beth for over 25 years, and I have so very many happy memories of spending time with her. We felt as if we were sisters, since we shared many of the same sensibilities, tastes, interests, and opinions. We mirrored each other with our choices of food, clothing, and colorful Asian-Bohemian décor – and a love of gardening.

Her magical energy spilled out beyond the walls of her house and into the garden. Nurturing the plant life to take on forms of amazing beauty that as a landscape became a vehicle for expression and transformation of Spirit. Her home ground was sacred, and we felt it. It drew us in and grounded us as we slowed down and connected with the Earth Mother.

The sacred garden also drew in the crows. Beth talked to her garden visitors and fed them, and they were her friends. From her, I was inspired to make friends with my own feathered neighbors. “Loki” and his mate “Sylvie” have been visiting our yard for several years now, and I’m sure using telepathy to coax us serve them bread and kibble. I feel connected to be able to carry on and expand upon Beth’s tradition.

And her connection will also continue on through her artwork. I have admired the progression of Beth’s skill, starting from the smaller, early, more traditional collages, to the color and texture-laden visions that she grew into. Her work is thoroughly unique and inspired, flowing with expressive energy and it deserves a place in Seattle’s art history. In the same way that Beth could see the world of energy around us, she accessed that vision through her creativity. That is a rare gift we have been lucky to witness.

On a personal level, Beth was always there for me as I grew up and through middle age. She was both a listener and a giver of sage advice – getting me through milestones in my life’s journey and soothing my fears. I could count on her for caring support and clear wisdom. She always felt like “my Beth” …but I know she was in love with all of us, deeply connected with everyone. And so very proud of and passionate for her beautiful family.

Beth will forever be a role model for me as the dynamic, strong, and independent woman who made intelligent choices that kept her vital and sharp right up to the end. We can learn much from her. She was authentic to herself while at the same time having great compassion for others and making connections widely, rippling light and energy across her community, and leaving a mark that will continue to illuminate hearts across Seattle and beyond.

We have been blessed to a high degree this lifetime, to have Beth Baker Burke journey with us, to affect each and every one of our souls here, bringing us to be the best possible expressions of ourselves. Beth’s work on this earth could be no less than this very important alchemy rippling out across space and time through us, her friends and family. With Joy, we will continue to hold her in our hearts with absolute love, until and beyond when we meet up with her again.

Jay, Jeffrey, Heidi, Beth, and Tonya - Our annual, and last, holiday time salmon dinner.
Ever since I was a little girl and my family would visit the Palo Alto Bakers, Beth has been my most cherished supporter. When she and Pat were raising Matt and Brian close by to my parents’ house, they were the first ones I would seek for counsel in challenging times. Beth always made me feel strong, unique and beautiful. I think she had that effect on so many. She was magical to me and helped me open up my heart to possibilities. I miss her so much, but carry her close to my heart.

To Beth's family,

I feel everyday since she passed, that  her glorious, brilliant nature lives on in all who loved her, especially her children, grandchildren and beyond.  My condolence's to you. I think of you. She's on my mind all of the time, and I can't believe she's gone!
