I remember my Aunt Bertie always crocheting dolls for us. She even made our Christmas stockings with names on and all hand cut and sewn decorations. I still had mine up until about 2013 when we had a flood and it got ruined I was so upset because I was the only one in the family that still had one. I also remember all the birthday parties up in the house in the woods. She always made them special with games and lots of candy. Aunt Bertie I will miss sending those Christmas cards with a hand written letter to you every year. You will be missed by so many. We will cherish all the great times and memories. R.I.P. Aunt Bertie
I am so very sorry for the loss of your Mom. She was always so much fun, always seemed to have a smile on her face. I wish I could be there with you all as you celebrate her life. You all have my heartfelt sympathies. She was loved by many and will be missed.
Kisses were the thing I remember the most about Aunt Bert. As soon as she hit the door she was looking for us kids. She would squeeze our little faces with her hands and plant red lipstick kisses over every inch of them. Geeze that stuff was hard to get off, I swear it was like permanent marker!!! When she would come in from Ohio and get together with my Mom and Aunt Almeda…a trip to the bingo hall would not be far off. They always were so happy when they were together!!! Dad always called them the “Crazy Crissey’s” they were certainly quite the trio. I remember my first trip to Phoenix. My Mom drove me to Aunt Bert’s so I could fly out of Cleveland the next day. Aunt Bert put me in her room for the night. I distinctly remember trying to sleep on her fancy satin sheets while country music played all night. Needless to say, sleep didn’t come easy. I’m glad that they are all three together again!! You always knew you were going to have fun when Aunt Bert and you kids would come to visit. I’m glad I have these precious memories to share. She was much loved and will be missed.
