Bertha's obituary
Bertha Cagle-Moreland, a lifelong resident of Alabama who later moved to Illinois, passed away on February 18, 1982, in Countryside, Illinois, at the age of 82.
Born on September 27, 1899, in Alabama, Bertha was the daughter of John David and Martha J. Cagle. Her father passed away in 1943 at the age of 71, and her mother passed away in 1946 at the age of 70.
On May 26, 1930, Bertha married George Thomas Moreland in Alabama. They were married for nine years before George's death in 1940 at the age of 29. Together, they had four children: Lois Georgie, Raymond Noble, Roy Webb, and Ronald Allen. Bertha's son Roy Webb passed away as an infant in 1937, and her daughter Lois Georgie passed away in 1978 at the age of 47.
Bertha also mourned the loss of her two sisters, Mary Ann, who died in 1957, and Emma, who died in 1969 and three brothers John, Clifton and Robert. Bertha is survived by her three sisters Amanda, Linnie and Dovie.
Bertha's life took her through various towns in Alabama, including Haleyville, Marion, and Walker, before she eventually settled in Illinois. She is survived by her sons Raymond Noble and Ronald Allen, as well as a large extended family.
