We will always think of Bert as our "go to guy". There was nothing he couldn't fix, figure out, or help us make a decision about. So now without him we fumble our way through life and I'm certain if he's watching he'll just shake his head and smile at us. Miss you Bert ❣️
I ran with Bert at KU, great athlete even a better person. Thoughts are with his family
I knew Bert from karate and got to witness his athleticism and drive firsthand. He was a great guy.

I was honored to spend time with Bert at a Spartan Race at Blue Mountain. It was amazing watching him zip around trying to find the best place to watch and cheer on the racers! The best part of the day was being able to get Bert on the finish to hand Carol, Scott, and Kyle their medals!

I have good childhood memories of my brother and I going over to Bert's to watch Friday the 13th movies, seeing their vast collection of Star Trek on Betamax, crazy fun joy rides in his car, and Bert's uncanny flexibility.
Those memories are really fun and innocent of the hardships to come. Although Bert's body may not have been what it was, his mind, his spirit, his soul are stronger than ever and live on in all of us.
Having Bert and his family at a Spartan race was so inspiring, seeing him zipping around to catch as much of the action as he could, the love and exasperation of his family as they tried to keep up with him always makes me smile
I cannot even begin to count the number of times when I reflect upon the advice and words of wisdom he gave me...

This is Lyssy, I remember meeting Bert when I was about 8 years old and we clicked right away from our shared sense of humor haha. My favorite memory is when he called Sophia and I downstairs at midnight and he had made us hotdogs. I'll never forget the wonderful memories I had with him. Love and miss you so much Bert<3

I am so sorry for your loss. Bert touched so many lives in such a positive way. He was such a good friend. Always had good advice when you needed it. He was also a true MacGyver. He could fix anything with whatever he had available. I loved watching him work his magic.

Thank you for sharing your dad with us. He will always be in your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love. Kyle
We will always miss Bert’s sense of humor and his fun loving spirit. Bert couldn’t have made it as long as he did without Jenn, Sophie and Alex. We will always remember our family vacations and couples only ones. We were hoping for one more. Lots of great memories were made. I don’t think I can ever take a photo without thinking about Bert’s secret maneuver. Miss you all!
Lange Family,
While Burt was an accomplished athlete at Kutztown University, my husband, David Fogle, competed on the Track with him (though different events) at Shippensburg University. Dave often talked about the amazing accomplishments of Burt Lange.

I had the privilege and honor to serve as Sophie & Alex’s Middle School Counselor. These awesome kids are part of Burt’s legacy. Their love for their Father is fierce and ongoing.

This family has touched my heart and my life, and for this, I am better.

I am so sorry for all you have lost, and though you didn’t have him long enough with you on Earth, he was a blessing. Praying you will see him again one day where there is no more crying and no more pain. God Bless you all with joy, peace, & Faith.

Love,
Mrs. Nancy Ann Rossi
We were saddened to hear of the passing Bert. We have many fond memories of him coaching soccer. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
I grew up with Bert from elementary to high school. He was always the witty kid with curly blond hair - running track and making people laugh. By fate I ended up crossing paths with his amazing family a few years ago and something about that entire family pulled me in ... I am so grateful and now I know what true love, strength and determination is. Loved seeing him inducted into KU athletic hall of fame. Loved running races with friends and family as he coached us on... loved watching him speed around on his scooter through KSC and then stopping in wonder at the science. We love you Bert, Jennifer, Sophia, Alex... parents, in-laws, siblings. I learned love and faith from all of you. God bless.
Jen, Soph and Alex,

Please know we are here for all of you. I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved Bert. You have been my hero through the past 7 years watching how you handled and dealt with everything. Your positivity was always incredible. I know Bert was lucky to have you as his caregiver. I love you my dear friend.

Bert was our son-in-law for the past 23 years. He was a man of integrity and deeply loved his wife and children. He was our "go to guy" when we needed help, couldn't figure things, or seeking advice. We would just say "ask Bert, he'll know". This was true even during his illness by using his eye gaze computer to communicate with us. We will cherish our memories of family celebrations, vacations, many hours of sporting events, school productions, choir concerts and graduation that we shared with him. As well as Bert's own achievements, watching him at track meets, karate tournaments, coaching soccer, and his induction into the Hall of Fame at Kutztown. His was a full life, well lived.
Found this quote that we believe sums up Bert's life -
"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing, the last of human freedoms to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way."
Until we meet again, love Ann and Ron
So many great memories of this guy. He and I had many grueling workouts together and would love to know the mileage we put in over the years. I can still picture to this day I was riding behind Bert flying down a hill at blue marsh and he hit a rock and he and his bike did a full somersault together in midair. Bert landed so hard I thought for sure he had broken bones everywhere. Bert gets up wipes the dirt off ,,clips back on bike and says let’s go. We rode for another 2 hours after his crash.
That’s just one of many memories.
He and his family will alway be in my thoughts and prayers.
Rest In Peace my friend
