Ben wouldn't like asking for donations for his kids. He always provided for them, he made financial decisions that ensured  he could continue doing that.   Ben liked being self sufficient. That's what he wanted for his kids, he said he  regretted giving them too much.   He said his Dad was a good role model, who led by example; showing up EVERYDAY, working without grumbling  and never giving less then 100%.  Ben honored his dad by doing  the same. Ben had a gift,  always being there to offer a hand, a hug, or smile to anyone, and everyone. He considered his fellow bus drivers his surrogate family, they showed appreciation by bringing in Ben's favorite foods.
  He actually talked about wanting to help fund a no kill animal rescue.   He envisioned a big piece of land where rescues would be able to run outside vs. being kept in cages. He thought  struggling youths could volunteer or use it as community service to help with the dogs. Youth and pets were 2 things he really cared about, he acted tough, but he was the first to give them attention. What he really enjoyed was cuddling with them while no one was around, he explained it was because they seemed lonely, not wanting to admit it was mutually beneficial . He always claimed that these interactions were  good for everyone's hearts.
