Benjamin Joe Waller was born in Chico, California, on May 31, 1973 to Joe and Joyce (Rose) Waller. He died of a sudden heart attack at his place of work in Gresham, Oregon, on December 5, 2025. Much of Ben's youth was spent overseas as a "Missionary Kid", living in Central America, South America, and Indonesia, where he graduated from high school. He returned to the West Coast after graduation. Ben lived life at full throttle, as a motorcycle racer, and as a gifted mechanic. Ben was a man with a big smile and a huge heart, witty and intelligent, with a great sense of humor. Ben's laugh was contagious, and he was a light in the life of all who knew him. He was always the first person to respond to someone in need, regardless of who it was. He leaves behind his beloved children, Elijah and Leah, and their mother Shelly Waller, all of Portland, Oregon. He leaves his parents and one brother, Tim (Jen) Waller, and Ben's nephews Joshua and Jonah Waller, all of Moore, Oklahoma. Ben was beloved by a huge extended family, and many friends around the globe who mourn his passing. His cousins were loved by him and are many: Waller cousins include Dawn Andrews, Lori Reagan, as well as Scott, Marc (deceased), Philp and Carl. Rose cousins include Pam Alger, Julie Darnall, Laura Milmore, Kathy Bonner, Scott Pierson, Belinda Scalas, as well as Nils and Erik Gransberg; they grieve his loss and treasure their memories. A celebration of life for Ben is being planned for January 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm in the Portland metro area, The venue will be Mt. Scott Community Center at 5530 S. E. 72nd Ave. Portland OR.
