Benjamin's obituary

Benjamin Carreon Ignacio, known to many as "Ben" or "Lakay" was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 5, 2023, at the age of 71. He was born on October 24, 1951, in Bani, Pangasinan, Philippines, as the fourth son of the late Gavino and Corazon Ignacio, among seven siblings. His departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Ben was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife, Lilia Ignacio, and a devoted father to his two children, Patrick Ignacio and Maricel Ignacio Gonzales. He cherished his role as a father and strived to provide a better life for his children, ensuring they had opportunities he did not. Ben worked tirelessly in the pharmaceutical industry, where he spent most of his years as a dedicated employee. His hard work and commitment earned him loyalty awards and allowed him to support his family's needs and provide their children with a quality education.

Throughout his life, Ben was known for his warm and friendly personality. He was a cool and loving husband, dad, and grandfather, always there for his family and friends. His childhood days were spent growing up on a farm, instilling in him a strong work ethic and appreciation for the value of hard work. Benjamin enjoyed immersing himself in history, playing chess, and telling jokes that would light up a room. He had a knack for providing deep and meaningful advice to the young people he encountered, and his wisdom was highly valued by all who knew him.

Ben had a passion for physical activity, whether it was riding his bike to work or playing basketball. He embraced life with enthusiasm and a desire to make the most of every moment. Known as "Lords" or "Daddy Ben" to his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, he shared his love and kindness with the younger generations of his family. Benjamin's siblings held a special place in his heart, and he was loved dearly by his brothers and sisters.

He was a devoted servant of Marriage Encounter and a brother to all. Benjamin was admired for his unwavering work ethic, always completing tasks without complaint and earning the nickname "the silent operator." His dedication and integrity were evident in all aspects of his life.

Ben's legacy lives on through his eight grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His love and influence will continue to shape their lives and the lives of those he touched. In a testament to his remarkable journey, at the age of 70, Ben became an American citizen, a dream that once seemed out of reach.

Benjamin Carreon Ignacio will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his unwavering love, dedication, and kindness. May he find eternal peace and rest, knowing that his legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In our hearts, Ben will live on, reminding us to embrace life, cherish family, and strive to be the best versions of ourselves. May he rest in eternal peace.
