Benjamin's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Benjamin Basham, born on March 5, 1981, who left us too soon on April 30, 2024. A man of vibrant personality and big heart, Benjamin's memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
Benjamin was a man of simple pleasures. He had a distinct love for Biscuits and Gravy and would never pass up a ballpark hotdog. His musical tastes were eclectic, with favorites ranging from the heartland country tunes of Morgan Wallen, the pop-punk rhythms of Chumba Wumba to the timeless pop beats of Madonna.
He was a passionate sports enthusiast, supporting a wide variety of teams including the Boston Redsocks, Denver Broncos, Padres, Sooners, and the KU Jayhawks. He took great joy in watching sports, especially college sports, and the Boston Redsocks. Benjamin was also an avid sports gambler, embracing the highs and lows of the game.
Benjamin maintained a healthy lifestyle by lifting weights, his preferred method of exercise, yet he also understood the value of relaxation. Las Vegas ranked high on his list of favorite vacation spots. A family man at heart, spending time with family and friends in their local community was one of his favorite pastimes.
His favorite color was red, a reflection of his vibrant and lively personality. Described as bubbly, witty, and humorous, he had a sensitive side that made him endearing to all. Benjamin was an eternal learner, always eager to absorb and share knowledge.
His two greatest achievements were his children and the joy that his laughter brought to those around him. The legacy that Benjamin leaves behind is one of laughter and love, a testament to a life well-lived, and the sentiment 'Go Boston and Boomer Sooners' that he held dear.
In memory of Benjamin, let us continue to learn, love, and laugh, as he did. His spirit lives on in the teams he cheered, the music he loved, and the laughter he shared.
