Benito Zamora, 58, of Earlville, Illinois, passed away on January 10, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois with his family by his side. Born on August 11, 1966, Benito was known for his reserved, private nature and his passion for fishing, often spending hours by the water in quiet solitude. Benito was born in Brownsville, Texas, but moved to Aurora, Illinois as a child and spent most of his life there until finally moving to Earlville.
Benito leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Benito (Rose) Garza; daughter, Corina Zamora; mother, Reyes (Lorenzo) Chavez; granddaughter, Liliana Garza; grandson, Benito Garza Jr.; brother, Charles (Tammy) Bresnak; sisters, Debera Bresnak and Eva (Efrain) Zamora; and his girlfriend, Nancy Funck. In addition to fishing and enjoying nature, Benito cherished his extensive album collection and had a particular fondness for The Beatles, whose melodies often filled his home. Benito also had a love for cooking and would often sit and watch cooking shows all day long. He could often be heard boasting of his fried gulf brown shrimp and his chicken alfredo which was out of this world.
Benito's unique laugh and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
