Ben's obituary

Ben Springborn, 69, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away on August 25, 2025. He was born in Beaumont, Texas, on January 13, 1956, to Arnold and Gladys Maxcine (Cook) Springborn.

Early in life, Ben served in the United States Air Force. He went on to work for many decades as a software engineer, a career he pursued with dedication until retirement.

He is survived by his four children, Leah Kaufman, Jacob Springborn, Jesse Springborn, and Noah Springborn, and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Kaufman, Alexander Kaufman, William Kaufman, and Ember Springborn. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Wade and his sister Ann.

Ben will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor and his love of science fiction, physics, tackling programming puzzles, and experimenting in the kitchen.

A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Reach Center, a charity Ben worked for and held close to his heart, dedicated to expanding access to mental health care in Colorado.
