Going though some stuff and found a half finished doll her and Chevelle was working on. Also found a half finished quilt they did. We will finish those soon and post some pictures. All the time she put into her grandchildren was truly beautiful. She was the best grandma. 💛
Her favorite childhood memory was going to her grandparents without any of her brothers. She got to go to McDonald’s and get her own milkshake and meal. She felt special and adored. She would take me to burger king some mornings and we’d split a Cini Mini together, just the two of us (and sometimes my childhood best friend “Little Heather”.) I now see why she’d do “one on one” eat dates. It’s because it was her favorite thing as a child and she wanted to share that magic with us. 💛
Was just listening to “send me on my way” by Rusted Root. That was one of the songs Chevelle Ma and I listened to on her last car ride. It was one of her favorite songs. She loved it. We looked at Christmas lights and she smiled. It was a good memory.
I remember every Christmas Eve we’d get to open our PJs and she’d make us hot cocoa and toast out of the oven. Her nutcrackers were her thing during the holidays. Every time I see one I think of her. I remember how much shed say how she hated the holidays but she sure did make it special for us. They definitely weren’t the same this year. I felt there wasn’t that special magic that she’d always seemed to deliver. Never really realized how special it was. It felt empty this year.
