Bea's obituary
Bea was a compassionate, kind, patient, and loving person. To know her was to be loved by her. Those who had the privilege of knowing Bea had a taste of unconditional love. She welcomed all and her goal seemed to be to bring joy to everyone she encountered. She often accomplished this by making a favorite meal, dessert, or by crafting something of interest for the recipient. She was adept at tailoring clothes, sewing, decorating, cooking, and baking. She also made her own hats and reupholstered her own furniture. Her granddaughter, René remembers with fondness the hand-sewn “Cabbage Patch Kid” and stuffed panda bear (from faux fur coats) that Grandma Bea made for her.
Bea loved the Lord and others. The love that she offered so freely reflected her faith in Jesus Christ and his perfect love. “We love because he first loved us” 1 John 4:19. She trusted in the Lord for her salvation and sought to share that through caring for and serving others. Because of her confidence that the Lord would always be with her, she had a positive outlook on life. Bea exuded an attitude of gratefulness and sweetness that will live on in our memories of her.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Sadie (Kennedy) Youngs, her siblings, Jack, Cecil (Gene), Patricia (Patty), and Phyllis, her husband, Eugene W. Cross, Sr., daughter Blythe (Cross) Rogers, and son, Eugene W. Cross, Jr.
She is survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren:
