Bart Michael Filaseta, Jr., born on March 15, 1956, in Frankfurt, Germany, passed away on January 6, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona.

He dedicated his life to caring for others as a nurse before retiring. His compassion extended beyond his profession, as he found joy in helping people and volunteering within his community. His selflessness and commitment to service left a lasting impact on those around him. Bart had a strong faith in God.

He was the beloved son of Bart and Veronica Filaseta, both of whom preceded him in death. Bart is survived by his five siblings: Joseph Filaseta; John Filaseta and his wife Sue; Michael Filaseta and his wife Karen; Mary Frohlich and her husband James; and Gene Filaseta. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and other loved ones who will cherish his memory.

A funeral service will be held, with a blessing of ashes, on March 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 3201 East Presidio Road, Tucson, Arizona 85716.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of the following: the Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, AZ; the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches in Los Angeles, CA; the Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund in New York, NY; and the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT.
