Barry's obituary
In Loving memory of Bary Williams
6/26/1950 – 09/02/2025
Barry Williams, age 75 passed away peacefully on September 2nd, 2025, after a long and difficult journey through life. A Vietnam War veteran, Barry served his country with courage and resilience during a time of great challenge. His military service was a source of quiet pride, even as the experiences he carried shaped the road ahead in profound and challenging ways. He carried both the visible and invisible burdens of that time for the rest of his life.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Barry grew up with a strong sense of independence and a spirit shaped by both hardship and perseverance. His life was not without its struggles, and his relationships were often marked by complexity. Yet, through it all, he remained a deeply human person – flawed, enduring, ultimately at peace.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Williams, who stood by his side through many seasons of life and whose quiet strength and care were a constant presence in his later years. He also leaves behind two sisters, Ardena Williams and Denise Williams; and four children, Lisa Williams (Chris Covington); Nicole (David) Janson; Shana (Michael) Johnson, and Michael Williams (Chris Howell) who each carry forward parts of his story in their own lives. In addition, three grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Isabella Williams-Johnson, and Edie Williams-Johnson remember Barry with affection and respect. Through stories, photographs, and quiet moments they carry forward the lessons he taught them: to be brave, to persevere, and to never take life’s freedoms for granted.
Though Barry’s path was not always an easy one, his life mattered deeply. Those who knew him best understood the depth behind his silence and the care he displayed in his own way. He will be remembered for his service, stubborn strength, and the complex legacy he leaves behind.
