Barry's obituary

SODUS, NY/ ZEPHYRHILLS, FL- Barry Alan Wheaton, 55, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2024.

He is survived by his long- time girlfriend of 11 years, Cari Abson, his mother and step- father, Kathleen and Richard Sheehan, mother- in- law, Jacquelyn Abson, father- in- law, William Abson, sisters Kelly (Timothy) Sasser & Heather (David) Sasser, and sister-in- law, Jaime (Aaron B.) Abson.

He had eight children:

Alex Wheaton, Danielle (Zackary) Dorn, Zachary (Sarah) Wheaton, Nathan Wheaton, Makaila Abson-Wheaton, Tyler (Diana) Brown, Ethan Grosz & Dalton Wheaton.

Barry had 3 grandchildren whom he loved very much: Mason, Jaxson and Monroe.

He had a lot of extended family and friends who were like family.

Barry had 4 dogs (Dakotah, who passed April 30, 2016), TazZ, LillieMae, & Aries who were his other "children". 

Barry was pre-deceased in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and his father, Monty Wheaton.

He had a special place in his heart for his last two places of employment (most recent; Dunkin' Donuts (Wesley Chapel, FL, and The Alley Sports Bar (Now known as 3B's).

He loved coaching softball/baseball when his boys were little, football, played on a dart league, bowling league, NASCAR, running the lanes for Saturday children's bowling league, bowling on a bowling league, playing music, singing karaoke, camping with family, and the Cleveland Browns. He loved to make people laugh.
