I had the great fortune of meeting both Barry and Marilyn on a trip back from VT twenty-five years ago! My beloved partner, Jeffrey Dean and he were BFFs since grammar school in Westford, MA.  At least once a year Barry would ride his motorcycle down to our home.  He and Jeff would have great fun catching up.  I cherished those times seeing how happy each were to be in the other's company.  If only we could turn back time and both of them were still happily in our lives.  I miss them both more than any words can ever express.    My sincerest, heartfelt condolences to Marilyn and their sons.

Remembering Barry... Just an awesome guy and a good friend that I will never forget. God Bless brother. Until we meet again.

A very wonderful man who is loved by all and will be missed by many. Barry truly made a mark.
This is sad news to read. I had Mr Lyons at Leominster High Trade School back in the late 80's. I still use the knowledge he taught me to this day. We all earned a lot from him and he made learning fun.  I am sure he will be missed by the many lives he has touched in his teaching career,

Barry’s son Ben married my daughter Katie. Sadly, I was only in Barry’s company twice so I did not know him well. What I did know impressed me. He was an electrician, a teacher, a guitar player, a song writer, an artist, a vegetable grower and an avid skier. Not many people have such varied skills and interests. I will miss the opportunity to know Barry better and to be in his company again.
I was able to meet both Barry and Marilyn through my partner Jeffrey Dean and we enjoyed each other over the years.  I am devastated to hear of his passing, they were at Jeff's memorial and there were no words then as there aren't now to express the unimaginable.  I am so very sorry for Marilyn and the entire family.
Mr Lyons (Barry) was won of the most influential teachers in my life . As a student at leominster CTEi I had the privilege of having Barry as my main instructor for 4 years . He always challenged me with  additional assignments to keep me in focus .  A lot of memories driving around in the shop van doing odd projects for the school or the house projects. Can’t  say we didn’t slack/venture off for doughnut or subs now and again. Attached is a news paper article of a fire alarm system we fixed at the fire department ( of all places ) ha ha let some kids fix it . Their are a few missing from the photo as they were out working on coop ,Getting their start in life . A lot of very successful students from that group ( class 93) all thanks to the “Mr Lyons “. I'm only speaking of one class . His mark on the students and commitment for 3 plus decades is nothing short of amazing .You will be missed Mr Lyons !!!
So sad to be hearing about the loss of Mr. Lyons. He was a great teacher. I pray that God fills his family with peace and understanding in this difficult time.

Worked with Barry many years at CTEi and he was always helpful. There were many times the Culinary Arts program needed the expertise of an electrician/teacher coaching students to fix many things from frayed plugs to changing heating elements in a commercial dishwasher. Barry was  well respected by students and faculty! I have fond memories of four wheeling , playing the guitar etc . Barry was a good man and friend. My sincere condolences. David Sweeney

I grew up with Barry and Bruce Lyons in Nabnassett. We used to refer to our little town as Camelot. We had such a fun childhood and recently shared an abundance of memories! Barry helped me remember such fun times which were especially sweet after the loss of my two brothers: Erik and Cliff Garcia. Barry was at a very good and content phase of his life.  He seemed joyful: Good marriage, kids, grand kids, and retirement!  I will miss his wit, sentiment, and views on life.  I feel like i have lost another brother….So sorry to Marilyn and Bruce, and all for such a devastating loss. Gone too soon Barry!! You will be missed.
I taught with Barry in the electrical program at CTE for many years.  He was a great teacher who had the knack of imparting his knowledge of the electrical trade.  His teaching skills went far beyond electrical.  He was a just a great person who took his students well being to heart. Any young person under his tutelage could graduate from his program not only with trade knowledge but also worldly experience about what was to come ahead in their lives.   There are not enough words to express how much the world will miss him.
A great guy!! I worked in the CTEi as a custodian just before he retired. He found out that I had a 92 Chrysler Lebaron convertible and gave me a box of parts and a bonet for when the top was down. Asked him how much said I was cleaning out my garage and thought you could use it. That's just one story about how great a guy he was. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Mr. Lyons was not only a teacher/mentor , but he always reminded us the value of work ethic and real world. As students we left the Electrical Trade with more than just a skill. He always made sure his students left shop with some sort of productivity and knowledge. He also was very inspiring and treated his students how they deserved to be treated. He showed much enthusiasm with his teaching. He also made us laugh on many occasions. I will never forget everything Mr. Lyons ever taught me. I cannot express how deeply sorry I am for the loss to his family and friends as well as thoughts and prayers. The memories will certainly carry on as well as having a guardian angel around us.
I worked with Barry at Leominster CTE and the pleasure was all mine. Barry was an excellent teacher and a great person. He was definitely one of the good guys. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Barry Lyons was a true inspiration to me all through high school and his inspiration has followed me into my career as I have also become a master electrician. He was a great teacher and a good person all around. I know he will be missed by so many and my most sincere condolences go to his entire family. May you rest in peace sir!
This is such sad news.  I knew Barry for all the time he was at CTE, first as a fellow teacher and then as an administrator. He was an excellent teacher who cared about his students and his craft. I am so glad I recently was able to re-connect with him at a party for another retiree. My deepest sympathy for his family that he loved so much.
