Background
Barry’s life was deeply shaped by his time at Abilene Christian University. The friendships he made, the values he carried, and the education he received were all part of what made him the husband, father, friend, and leader we cherished.
Though his major was in business, his heart also found its rhythm in music. From marching band to steel drum band, and just about anything that made music or rhythm, Barry poured his talents, joy, and energy into the ACU music community. His enthusiasm was contagious, and his creative spirit touched everyone around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family is working with ACU to establish an endowment in Barry’s honor, focused on supporting the music program he loved so much. This fund will help future students discover and develop their own musical gifts, carrying forward Barry’s legacy of creativity, joy, and connection through music.
