Denise and I are very sorry to hear the news of Barry's passing. He was always so full of energy and vigor in all his pursuits -  a real inspiration! While on the tennis court prior to a serve, I can still hear him informing me in his baritone voice "Patrick we NEED this point!"

Our deepest sympathies to  his loving family.

Barry was one of a kind.  A great person with a big heart.  He was willing to help anyone as long as they were willing to accept it.  He had such a great sense of humor with his no nonsense comments and personality.  You knew exactly where you stood with him.  He had no time for BS.  I am so privileged we had the opportunity to work together.  I will always have a smile on my face as I think of him.  My condolences to the whole family.  He will be greatly missed.
I loved Barry.  He was always so strait forward never illusional and honest without a personal agenda. I know how proud he was of Grace and his kids and even though he may not have told them so on a regular basis it was always in his heart. We all will miss him.

What we quickly learned about Barry while getting to know him, was that he was truly one of a kind. So many things to admire about this man, he leaves a rich legacy to his family and a model for others about life, working hard and doing the right thing.

God bless him, may he rest in peace and we pray for strength for his family during this difficult time.

Barry and I set sail from Seattle to Alaska, and it turned out to be one of the wildest, most unforgettable journeys of my life. I'm so grateful for the experiences we shared. I wore many hats on that trip: cook, deckhand, errand boy, IT support, and, every now and then, mechanic (he’d send me down to the engine room for light maintenance). He even joked (though 100% serious) that if the ship's propeller ever got tangled, I’d be the one jumping into the freezing ocean to fix it!

Barry was a character, fun to be around and full of stories. Every dinner came with a tale, and every day was an adventure. He gave me a glimpse into life aboard a ship: waking up at 4 a.m. to haul anchor in freezing temperatures, navigating tight, treacherous passageways, and even powering through a whirlpool that nearly turned the ship sideways. Through it all, Barry's skill and calm at the helm kept us safe.

More than just a Great Captain, Barry showed me what it means to face challenges head-on and never back down. I’m honored to have shared meals and memories with him.

He made a lasting impression on me.

Barry, you will be deeply missed. Thank you for everything.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
