Barbara's obituary

We regretfully announce the death of Barbara Ruth Unverrich on May 16, 2022.

Barb was born September 4, 1943, in Milwaukee, WI.  She was the firstborn child of the late Robert Samuel and Norma Brown.  She is survived by her younger sister, Kathy Brown.

Barb married the love of her life, Ronald Unverrich, on January 12, 1963.  Together they had four children - Scott, Mark, Lynn and Ryan. She was also grandmother to Scott's children - James and Heather.  She is preceded in death by Mark.  Some of her children's fondest memories are of the times they would go camping.  Barb loved to fish and gather around the campfire with her friends.  Longer vacations always included nature with small excursions to state parks or mountain vistas.  One of her absolute favorite things was to go out for a big breakfast with her family.  Maybe afterwards taking a small road trip to somewhere new and stopping by any thrift stores she'd find along the way.  Nights at home always included her sitting in her recliner crocheting  something from her huge stockpile of yarn. She took great joy in the simple things. And of course,  it would be impossible to talk about Barb without mentioning her unwavering faith in God.  She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on October 29, 1966, as a display of the promise she made to God that she would serve him faithfully for as long as she lived.  And Barbara wholeheartedly lived up to her promise.  Even in her last moments, she knew God would fulfill his promise to make the earth a paradise and call her to live again in it.

A memorial for Barbara will be held on June 10, 2022, at the Heritage Funeral Home in Oak Creek, WI.  Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm, followed by a service.
